Ombres Perlées de Chanel Eyeshadow Palette

Ombres Perlées de Chanel Eyeshadow Palette (5g - 55€): luckily i could snap one of these limited edition palettes. it is really beautiful, all shades right up my alley and perfect for a smokey eye. there are 5 powder eyeshadows, all shimmery with a pearly sheen.
this really fits the "pearl-theme" of the collection, each shade resembles a different coloured pearl.

i adore this palette and could stare at it all the time - still haven't tried on my eyes though. i heard the application onto the lid is a little bit tricky. UPDATE: luckily i don't experience any creasing problems with this at all - so this is not a common problem. also getting the colours onto the lid wasn't hard. using more fluffy brushes like MAC 217 or 222 gives you the best effects. the colours are on the sheer side - but this sheerness combined with a strong pearl sheen and lots of glimmers make the  similarity to a pearl lustre to me. the colours play with your own skin tone.
i'll test it soon (with photos) and will report. also i will try to come up with comparison + daylight swatches and possible dupes (i already have some in mind ;) ). just give me some more days until i can catch a ray of sun ;)

the applicators coming with this are quite useless for me, note there is one with a brush end - but still crappy.

now i'll just let the pictures speak ;)

first shade - white pearl: cream colour, very sheer but with a gleaming white pearl sheen.

next - rose pearl: shimmery rose apricot with a white sheen. almost metallic finish.

middle shade - eggplant Tahitian pearl: charcoal with  pink and silver shimmer.

green Tahitian pearl: frosty greyish olive base with multicolour shimmer - mostly silver, pink and blue.

last shade - grey Tahitian pearl: charcoal with strong multicolour shimmer - mostly blue and pink.

  3. A great brush to use with this is the MAC 217. I've experimented with lots of brushes and that's the best one for me.
