NARS blushes revisited! #9 - Mata Hari.

this series is just for better pics&swatches. my opinion about the blushes stays the same, take a look at older posts.

NARS blushes contain 4.5 - 4.8g each for the powder blushes, and 5.5g each for the cream blushes.
they cost 29€/19.50£/26$.

Mata Hari is a matte purple-mauve. i find this cool toned shade very flattering for yellow and olive undertoned skins. it doesn't make a corpse-like look on me like i have initially feared when i saw the pan, but a very natural rosey flush. i love this in autumn/winter.
it's quite pigmented, but with a light hand and good blending it can look sheer and subtle. the matte texture is great, never blotchy, very fine and buildable. no fading over the day.
overall recommendation for yellow/olive undertones.

in comparison to other medium cool toned pinks: Mata Hari looks like Angelika by NARS but without the silver sparkles and also less intense pink. it's darker and has more purple than MAC Pinch O'Peach. MAC Mineralize Blush in Gentle has gold shimmer, which differs it from Mata Hari.

this is how Mata Hari looks worn: you see it can be applied fairly subtle.

  4. thank you all! mata hari is a beautiful shade that too often is underrated!

@littlelucy: yes, i was also surprised that they look so similar. but the quality and the colour they apply when blended out is more different.
