Chanel Ombres Tissées in Beiges.

today i want to showcase the Chanel Ombres Tissées Iridescent Effects Eyes in Beiges to you, the star product of their Les Aquarelles de Chanel collection. sadly, this look didn't make it to us european/german customers, but thanks to Maureen, i could happily possess it.
this absolutely beautiful powder is made for the eyes, but since it's so big (contains whopping 13g) i can easily use it as a face highlighter. it comes in a little dust bag and a velvet pouch, it also contains a little capped sponge applicator that can be sticked into a small flap inside of the velvet pouch.
this time i'm very happy with Chanel's compact, everything is beautiful and no useless applicators take up precious space making it bulky.

the powder has a delicate texture of woven tweed, Chanel's signature fabric. three stripes of different, soft and light colours are covered in a quite chunky and sparkly, silver/crystal glitter overspray. it's easily brushed away without disturbing the embossed texture, but of course the texture will fade after a few uses.

the upper stripe is a pinky beige, the middle, smallest stripe is a peachy beige and the bottom stripe is a light pink. all three parts are well pigmented and have a pearly finish without any chunky glitter. all colours are pretty pale and only differ slightly. on the eyes, they give a sheer, pearly sheen and create a bright eyes effect with soft shimmer.

mixed together for usage on the face, it's a whitish cream shade with white pearl shimmer. initially i was afraid that it could be too frosty and would emphasize on my enlarged pores, giving me a greasy/elephant skin appearance. but fortunately this is not the case, it blends out evenly to a very sheer finish, which i prefer for the use as a highlighter.

it has an intense highlighting effect but still looks soft and light. it creates a dewy glow on my cheeks, very fairy-like. it's extremely beautiful to look at and just pure pleasure to use, the powder is smooth and finely milled, applies evenly and lasts all day. i apply it with the Hakuhodo G5538BkSL, a fluffy highlighter brush made of white goat hair.

at 75$ it's quite an collector's item or luxury treat, but to me it's totally worth it. unlike the Guerlain Terra Inca for example (another quite expensive shimmer product that was released this summer), which shimmer particles tend to lay flat on my skin making me look almost greasy, this one keeps the dimensional sheen and shimmer beautifully. i'm surprised about how much i do enjoy a whitish highlighter and am glad that i have splurged for this.

apparently it's a different colour than my comparison highlighters but you can see that it appears less flat and frosty. i really like the MAC Too Chic Beauty Powder, too.
