after so many raves and mentions in the beauty world i really wanted to try this highlighter. if it would be better than Dior Amber Diamond (which i have and really like), it must be worth a try. i'm talking about Laura Mercier Shimmer Bloc in Mosaic.
i bought it on ebay, i think i paid something around 30€ for it (shipping included), the shimmer blocs normally cost 38$.
it comes in a simple dark brown compact with a little mirror inside. Mosaic contains 4 different shimmery shades:
- a taupy gold with rather apparent shimmer
- a pinky peach with gold shimmer
- a light cream with white shimmer
- a pale gold with very fine gold pearl
i like to use a very soft brush (A'Squirrel Pure Squirrel Angled Blush Brush) to apply it to the high points of my cheek bones, the brow bones and the cupid's bow. it applies evenly and blends out easily. it creates quite an intense highlight but very warm and soft, it's not too gold thanks to the peachy pink part in it. it's rather shimmery - more than i thought it would be and less fine than i wished. the shimmer is also more chunky than from the Dior Amber Diamond although similar in shade - there are just too many multicolour shimmers in it. i would appreciate it much more if all parts would have the same fine shimmer like the pale gold shade.
the first time after application it appears quite shimmery and also a bit chunky, but when i look into the mirror in the evening there is only a glowy sheen left and the chunks seemed to have melted into my skin or fallen off.

i fell onto your blog by chance and i must say that i absolutely LOVE your posts! thank you so much for taking the time and effort to do them everyday. I look forward to every post. You are so amazingly beautiful! I was just wondering if you could do a post on how you fill in your brows. They are just PERFECT! I unfortunately have really dark black eyebrows that I feel like gives a harsh effect to my face. :( I really wish for your brows. They are just so very lovely!!
ReplyDeleteoh thank you soo much sweetiepie! i really want to do a post about my brows, how i pluck and trim them and fill them in. but everytime i want to let them grow a bit to show you better, i can't stand it long enough ;) but i promise there will be a "basics" series soon ;)
