Becca Halcyon Days: Nail Polish in Tangerine Dreams

the other nail polish shade (next to Summerdaze) i bought from the Becca Halcyon Days collection is called Tangerine Dreams. this is the first time Becca does nail products, and i find they're doing it really well!
their polishes have rubberized tops and a wide flat brush. Tangerine Dreams has a liquidy texture and applies very evenly, better than Summerdaze. it dries quickly to a glossy finish and smells much less offensive than other polishes i own. it's free of Formaldehyde, Toluene, Camphor and DBP.
this shade is a cream peachy coral and is a great bright summer nail polish but still very wearable thanks to its sheer and light appearance. it's opaque in 2 thin coats, but it's already very even in one coat so you could surely wear it sheer like that.
it looks great on tanned skin and warm skin tones. this is the perfect colour for everyone who wants to try out THE colour of this summer *orange* but doesn't go too bright. also, a real yellowy orange doesn't look good on many skin tones and pale skins, but this shade is very flattering because it's more of a coral with orange hues.
it lasts over 2 days on me without chipping and tipwear, but i had to remove it then so i can't say more about longevity.
it contains 14ml and costs 12£/14.40€. i ordered it on zuneta.com.

Becca Halcyon Days: Nail Polish in Summerdaze

Becca launched three nail polish shades for the first time in their summer look Halcyon Days. all really wearable, beautiful shades which i had to have 2 of after i watched the application video on zuneta.com (the one i didn't get was a nude shade). the polishes are free of Formaldehyde, Toluene, Camphor and DBP.
this comes in a normal bottle with a rubberized top (which allows a good grip and control) and has a slightly wider flat brush.
today i want to show you the colour Summerdaze. it's a cream pinky peach shade, i like that it's soft and not too bright. the colour really enhances your tan since it doesn't contain too much white. i also really like that it doesn't smell too strong at all.
the texture is very good, it's liquidy but not too runny and applies as an even thin first layer - you could easily go with one layer for a very subtle sheer warm pink nail. the second coat makes it opaque, however you should buff your nails first or apply a base coat to avoid an uneven finish. it dries quickly to a glossy finish, but i still like to use a top coat over it.
it lasts well on me - i had no chipping or tipwear after over 2 days (but had to remove it then).
this nail polish contains 14ml and costs 12£/~14.40€.

Becca Halcyon Days: Mineral Blush in Flowerchild

i fell in love with Becca's summer look Halcyon Days and ordered some items on zuneta.com - today i want to show you the Mineral Blush in Flowerchild.
it contains 6g and costs 25£/~29.49€ which is a fairly high price tag - but i really wanted to try their blushes since i've heard so many good things about them. also the product videos on zuneta.com are very helpful so i doubted less.
it comes in a really sturdy rubberized compact with the signature Becca-medal on the lid.
Flowerchild is a coral pink with very fine gold shimmer. it's smooth and pigmented and has a very finely milled texture. it swatches almost like a satin finish but applies evenly as a warm light cotton candy pink flush with a fine pale gold sheen without beeing greasy or emphasizing on uneven skin. i like to use a soft squirrel hair brush with it to avoid it to get messy, i only need to tap twice into the pan for one cheek. it's easily buildable to a richer flush.
it stays all day on me without getting blotchy or oxidizing. this is a pretty colour that goes with many eye make ups and looks great with a slight tan.
however i find i a bit hard to choose the blush colours sight unseen and find this shade a bit too "common" for my stash, but i get lured into such colours over and over again ;)

liquid highlighters. II: Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector.

this is the Shimmering Skin Perfector by Becca in "Pearl".
i got it last spring because Lisa Eldridge stated it as her favourite liquid highlighting product. i haven't heard much of this brand before. Becca is an australian cosmetics brand founded by make up artist Rebecca Morris Williams. the range is very down-to-earth and consists many products for everyday and work appropriate wear, but at the same time quite unusual with many interesting cream products, which i still need to discover more about.
i ordered this off lookfantastic.com back then, but they don't seem to stock on Becca anymore. however you can still order from beccacosmetics.com (at 45€) or zuneta.com (for 32£).
the official website says about this product:

"A water-based moisturizer with an SPF of 20+ and light-diffusing particles of shimmer that creates instant radiance and vitality and reduces imperfections.
Contains ultra-fine mica to reflect light, making the skin appear healthy and glowing
The shimmering properties also help illuminate darkened patches of the skin and even out skin tone
Contains broad spectrum SPF 20+ to protect against 96% of both UVA and UVB rays
Contains anti-oxidant vitamins A, B, D, and E to aid in tissue repair, increase collagen renewal and moisture holding capacity, while simultaneously protecting against pollution and free radical damage
Contains soothing, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic ingredients
Make-up Artist Tip:
Apply as a base over the entire face and add a touch of Compact Concealer to blemishes if required.
Set with Fine Loose Finishing Powder for a natural looking glow.
Mix with a small amount of Luminous Skin Colour for a radiant complexion.
Use to highlight cheekbones, brow bones, and temples by dabbing over foundation and powder for an extra-dewey look.
For maximum shimmer and radiance, apply over a BECCA Primer and leave skin unpowdered."

it comes in a matte plastic bottle with the typical metal Becca medal on the cap. it has a second cap inside. the pump is good, you can control the amount you get. the bottle contains 50ml.

the double cap system is very hygienic and especially convenient if you want to take it with you and leave the big cap at home to have more space in your make up bag.

there are 5 different shades, i got it in Pearl which Lisa Eldridge recommended for lighter skin tones (but still am quite curious about Opal).
the consistency of this is creamy, it's white with a white pearl and tiniest multicolour shimmer, which you can't detect as this when it's on your face. it blends out beautifully and leaves a silky glow.
i love it most to mix into rather matte or dull foundations to make them a little bit more sheer and to give my complexion a very natural but beautiful illuminated sheen. there is no visible shimmer or greasy silverish cast, but a soft glow that evens your skin and make you look awake and healthy.
for the purpose of mixing in with foundation, i'm glad that the bottle contains so much product (50ml).
sometimes i also use it as cheekbone highlight and for the cupid's bow with a dense synthetic brush (i usually do stippling motions rather than swirling), but it looks a tad too white for my colouring. in the winter this effect is quite nice, though.
so far i haven't tried to apply it as a primer type product all over the face before foundation like Becca also recommends.
it's great that they packed this full with antioxidant ingredients and an SPF of 20, but please remember not to rely on this because you'd have to pack on quite a lot to get this spf. with a very thin amount mixed into foundation or even only local application (on cheekbones, brow bones, ... ) the spf doesn't help much. for me (with my oily skin i don't look good with shimmer all over) i don't see it as a skin care but a cosmetic product predominantly. although a wonderful one.

please don't get bored or be disappointed of it if you swatch it and don't see iridescent shimmer and sparkle. for a natural and beautiful highlight, it's not the sparkles and the frosty effect, but it's that subtle sheen that this product provides. i also thought: "and where is the highlighting effect?" when i first swatched it, but using it from time to time and especially in comparison to other liquid/cream highlighters, i learned to appreciate it more and more.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector sheered out

this is how it looks worn: i used it with MAC Pro Longwear foundation in NC20 in the following photos.

without (only foundation&undereye concealer) - with Becca SSP Pearl mixed into the foundation

pure foundation (+undereye concealer) with Becca SSP used as cheekbone highlight.
