my Cargo-love hasn't find it's end! today i'll move on with Catalina. i ordered on beautybay.com while there was a 10%-off promotion but normally they cost 15£/17.60€ each.
i have a good row of their silver metal tins now, i like the simple but uncommon look. it contains 8.9g of product, i think this is a great deal for the quality!!!
Catalina is a matte light blueish pink. it's in the same row with MAC Well Dressed or Pink Swoon, but you'll see the difference in my comparison swatch.
Catalina has a fine texture and a sheer finish. i like to apply it with a soft fluffy brush, such as the Hakuhodo 210 blush brush (review here) or Rouge Bunny Rouge Blush Brush (here). the sheer powder melts into my skin instantly to an even result, it's very blendable. notice that the colour will bind with your skin and warm up a bit after application so it looks very natural. it lasts on me all day without getting blotchy or oxidizing to a reddish shade.
it's different from the Guerlain or NARS matte textures which look velvety and even out your skin. this appears so finely milled, you can't even detect it other than the colour appearance, only your skin (almost like a cream blush or stain). so if you have uneven skin on the cheek and search for a matte and perfecting powder blush maybe you'll be more satisfied with Guerlain or NARS.
i like to wear Catalina on a sheer foundation for a no make up - make up look. it also looks great as a pop of colour combined with bronzer.

ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty colour! It looks gorgeous on you.
ReplyDeletethank you retrokitten + mateja!
ReplyDeleteLovely shade hun! I love matt finishes x
ReplyDeleteme too! matte blushes seem so boring in the pan, but mostly will look much more flattering on everyone. i think there are too many girls out there who overdo with shimmery finishes (like on the eye, as blusher, bronzer, highlight, lipgloss etc.) and would look much better with a matte blusher. i also find matte shades make your skin look better.
