[TAG] the 7 deadly sins of beauty.

thank you Maria for tagging me with this fun TAG! when i first read the title, i thought it would be about do's and don'ts beauty-wise, but actually it's much more harmless and fun :)

I. AVARICE - what's your cheapest beauty product?

it comes down to the 95¢ products, Essence eyeliners, nail polishes, a L'Oreal Studio Secrets brush which i got for 95¢ thanks to a coupon, a nail polish by Basic...
my most favourite cheapo product though are the Stay With Me glosses by Essence for sure.

in contrast, my most expensive make up products:

the Écrin 6 Couleurs palettes by Guerlain (i have 3 of them yet: #2 Place Vendôme, #29 Rue de Sèvres, #68 Champs Élysées) which cost 72€ each and the Lunasol Powder Brush N for 82$ (and not on the pic: IPSA Squirrel Brush L for 83$) are my most expensive make up items so far.

II. WRATH - what beauty product did cost you the most nerves?

well, there are two categories for this question: first the products that were really hard to get hold of...

in this category, special mentions of the following items are a must:

Givenchy Fleur de Frangipanier Powder - really lusted after this when it came out summer 2010, but nowhere near me i could buy the brand and also not in german/foreign online shops. ended up finding and splurging for it on ebay the 100th time i checked for it ;)

Givenchy Le Prisme Blush in Blooming Fuchsias - same story as above, only this was LE from last holiday season.

Dior 5 Couleurs Iridescent in Smoky Crystal - when it was released with the holiday collection 2009 i didn't buy it and regretted it ever since. so in my mind the image of this palette grew up to becoming the ultimate smokey eyes palette. lucky me could snap it almost unused in a blog sale some months ago at a bargain price but the live experience was quite disappointing...

Sephora by OPI Nail Colour in Metro Chic - yes, the mother of the grurples/muds. only sold at US-Sephoras and a lust in a time before i bought make up online. eventually i took the risk and searched on ebay, et voilà!

NARS Eyeshadow in Etrusque - i went crazy searching for this, it wasn't on hqhair, not on ebay, not even on narscosmetics.eu i could find it. bought a dozen of dupes for this, but in fact it was there (official online shop) all the time, only i was too hysteric too find it :P

Sephora Collection Pro Foundation Air Brush #55 - Sephora-exclusive, but not even in the Champs-Élysées-Sephora in Paris i could find this fluffy synthetic foundation brush :( it's Sephora-US-exclusive and i couldn't buy it online nor find it on ebay. in the time before several girls offer custom purchasing (Maureen) it seemed impossible for me to get my hands on this brush, and it was the one i wanted the most. most. most. some time later my sister-in-law went to NYC and picked it up for me.

Chanel Le Vernis in Jade Rose - first launched together with the infamous Jade polish and was the one i truly wanted. of course unavailable in germany and since i didn't want to pay 50€ for it on ebay, i arranged with some dupes and franken-polishes. when it was relaunched with their fall 2010 look, i made sure not to miss it. it's not that special.

Chanel Le Vernis in Particulière - the most hyped Chanel polish, sold out in an instant. also one i bought many dupes for, but in the end they brought it back to the permanent range.

Chanel Le Vernis in Paradoxal - the most anticipated polish, everyone wanted it thanks to the stunning promotion photos. they were released in spring and caused months of eager awaiting until it launched in fall 2010. this one i could buy before the german release date and even at a bargain price at HK airport - i managed to rush to a Chanel counter even when we were late for our flight already ;)

and then there is the category of products that drive you crazy/you're in a love/hate-relationship with:

surely my Edward Bess Luxury Eye Brush. i love it so much, but almost had a heart attack when it looked like so:

well, as you might remember i still managed to fix it ;)

III. GLUTTONY - what's your most delicious beauty product?

i never buy make up for the scent, in fact i even dislike foody scents in make up or skin care. fruity scents are okay, but sweet, honey or cream scents make me feel sick.
nonetheless, there are some products that i really like the scent of.

for the lips, i don't like vanilla-scents like in Hourglass, Laura Mercier or MAC lipglosses. i do like the scent of Korres Jasmine Lip Butter or Crazy Rumours Pink Grapefruit Juice Lip Balm, though.

the Clarins Everlasting Foundation/Teint Haute Tenue and the YSL Teint Resist both have a fresh watermelon scent which i like, but find disturbing when i apply them. the Chanel Bronze Universel has a fresh peach scent.

these blushes/bronzers (Givenchy Blooming Fuchsias, Chanel Joues Contraste blushes, Paul & Joe Bronzer, Edward Bess Ultra Luminous Bronzer, Givenchy Fleur de Frangipanier) have beautiful flowery scents, i love to apply them and feast in the scent.

IV. SLOTH - which beauty product do you neglect because of laziness?

definitely body moisturiser. even though i have quite dry skin on my body, i don't like the feel of body lotion or any film at all on my body skin. but even in times when i need it i regularly skip it because i'm to0 lazy to do the whole body and wait for it to sink in before i get dressed.

V.  PRIDE - which beauty product gives you the most self confidence?

for me, it's a beautiful (looking) skin and groomed eyebrows. it's a good foundation that makes me self confident when it comes to the appearance (here you can see: Burberry Sheer Foundation, Rouge Bunny Rouge Milk Aquarelle, Guerlain Parure Gold, Vichy Aera Teint Pure, Chanel Teint Innocence and Chantecaille Future Skin Foundation) and additionally i only need done brows to feel "complete" when i'm in a rush.

VI. LUST - what beauty attribute do you find attractive in the opposite gender?

i find men with curly hair very, very sexy. preferably a lot of them, and medium length.

VII. ENVY - what beauty product would you like someone else to gift to you?

BRUSHES! preferably SUQQU and Chikuhodo Z-Series. i think this counts as envy and greed together muahahaha!

that's it!

i'd like to tag Martha, Zuzu's Petals, Perilously Pale and Cream - and of course you can do it even without being tagged ;)
