uhh, i'm slowly turning into an eye pencil person, i guess. these days i really enjoy them, mostly the rather light and shimmery colours not to frame the eyes but to put on the lower lashline for a soft definition, some sheen and colour. still i don't think that colourful eyeliners, especially expensive ones, are essential when your make up collection is not that extensive. you can achieve the effect of a regular eye pencil with any eyeshadow colour of your choice. i feel like for me, at this point of my collection, i like to venture into new fields.
this is one of my newer acquisitions, Chanel's Le Crayon Yeux Precision Eye Definer in #68 Khaki Doré. i have admired it for a few months on different blogs, but it was always out of stock on douglas.de (and i wasn't willing to pay full price for it :P). it's from the permanent line of Chanel's regular eye pencils, this is not a smudgeproof or waterproof eyeliner.
Khaki Doré is an olive green with very fine golden sheen. a beautiful colour that is dark enough to frame my eyes when applied on the lid (looks great on it's own without any eyeshadow), but with the gold sheen it's still light catching and looks good as a subtle and soft colour on the lower lashline. the colour remembers me of MAC's Powersurge liner, but less shimmery.
it glides smoothly on my skin, the lead is soft but not too soft. it smudges nicely with the foam rubber smudger at the end (but of course also with every smudging brush ;)).
since it's not of the setting/smudgeproof type, i would have to use it rather thin and only thicker on the most outer corners to avoid transfer with my folded lids. i think it's pointless to set a colourful liner with an eyeshadow, though.
however it stays well on my lower lashline and also even about 3 hours on my waterline without irritating my eyes.

after the rub test: only the cheapest product (P2) remained! |
it costs 20.95€ and contains 1g. it comes with a nice little sharpener.
speaking of sharpeners, i knew that some really nice sharpeners have this nifty little cleaning stick thing built in - but was never aware of every sharpener having it! were you? i always cleaned my sharpeners with any q-tip or toothpick or with the freshly sharpened tip of my eyeliner (and created an even bigger mess ;)).
well, here is what i meant...
hööööööö, das ist mir noch nie aufgefallen :D Ich werd meine sharpeners mal jetzt unter die lupe nehmen, danke für den tipp ;) btw awesome comparison. will take a look at the p2 liner next time.
ReplyDeletenever knew about the cleaning stick! :0
