today i want to talk to you about the Guerlain Lingerie de Peau foundation. i own mine from the first day it was launched in germany, i think i bought it last summer or fall. its name alone already made me want to have it ;)
Guerlain promises a soft and light texture that glides onto your skin and feels weightless. the foundation will look and feel like your bare skin, but evens it out and makes it soft and radiant like silk to give you a fresh and natural appearance. it has an spf of 20 (but please never rely on the spf of your foundation only, especially in the summer. you'd have to use loads to achieve this spf while you don't want to cake on your foundation like that, right?).
i bought it in the shade 02 Beige Clair, which was their lightest shade with a yellowish/neutral undertone. i think this shade would match NC/NW 20-25 in MAC. it's a little bit too pink for me, so i like to mix a few drops of a quite yellowish foundation with it to get the perfect colour (for reference i'm about NC23-25 right now).
it comes in a heavy and luxurious looking glass bottle with a pump, i really like Guerlains bottle design.
the foundation has a flowery scent (the same scent like their other foundations) which is quite strong but i like it - much better than the violet scent of the powders. it's texture is liquidy and it feels fresh when spreaded. i normally apply my foundation with the BeautyBlender sponge which works amazingly to create a perfect finish, but i have also used this foundation very often with a normal fluffy synthetic brush (like those) and it worked just as beautifully.
the Lingerie de Peau foundation provides a light-medium coverage and is easily buildable to a higher grade of medium coverage. the best thing i like about this foundation is that it really looks like skin. like young and radiant fresh, lush skin with this sheen that doesn't come from any highlighter or moisturiser but from your skin itself. amazing.
it doesn't contain shimmering particles.
it feels fresh and light on the face but is not the best nourishing or hydrating foundation so i can easily wear it with my oily skin and having it stay on (and look good) for about 7-9h. it doesn't oxidise or darken on my skin. it does not conceal uneven skin texture but also does not settle into pores or fine lines. the one issue i have noticed with this foundation is that it will emphasize on flaky/dry patches towards the end of the day. so you should either use a richer moisturiser or smoothing primer or should exfoliate regularly to avoid this.
otherwise i really like this foundation, especially when my skin is in better condition than at the moment. it really creates a fresh and radiant second skin and stays true to its claims.
this foundation costs 46€ for 30ml.

this is how i will look without and with this foundation on. notice that i have mixed it with 3:1 with the Rouge Bunny Rouge Milk Aquarelle Foundation in Almond Milk Parfait to get the matching shade (review of that foundation here). the RBR foundation also enhances the coverage and staying power of Guerlain's Lingerie de Peau and i think they are a perfect couple! somehow my camera manages to make it look quite yellow, it's not that bad in real!
without any and then with make up on (excuse my worse skin condition - but so you see how the coverage is)
only foundation - full face make up
shade comparison:
i have three foundations from Guerlain, the Guerlain Parure Extreme, Lingerie de Peau and the Parure Gold (click here to see a review of that). all in shade 02 Beige Clair. here you can see how they compare and how they compare to a MAC NC20 foundation (i have the Pro Longwear).

what about you? do you have or want to try Guerlain foundations? i'm a bit curious about the Parure Aqua that they also do, but i doubt if it's very different from the Lingerie de Peau.
Wow this looks beautiful on you!
ReplyDeleteOMG honey you really don´t have to
ReplyDelete"excuse" yourself for showing us your bare skin!WE have to excuse to have you brought in a situation where you might feel embarrassed (which you totally don´t need to be, your skin isn´t as bad as you always describe it). Thanks for having the "courage" to show us your bare skin so that we can see the effect of the foundation, I know a lot of us (including me for certain) would never do this.
This foundation looks really nice, and your descripiton makes me want to buy it, maybe for winter when I need more coverage. But then again, I suffer from dry flakey skin that yould be enhanced as you said..mmh maybe I just have to try it!Haha you totally got me when you said that it really does look like skin, I´m a sucker for those sort of foundation since I never got that effect with any of my foundations (except Bobbi Brown but they are way to yellow)
Oh, way to long comment, sorry hihi

I agree with Vanessa. I'm about to post my first bare skin photo and I'm totally anxious about it - but I know I shouldn't be. With that said this foundation looks really great on you. Is this brand available in the US?
ReplyDeleteI've never tried this brand but have heard good things about their eyeshadows. Your skin looks great even without makeup btw, give yourself some credit. <3
ReplyDeletei have tried all 3 of these guerlain foundations and beleive me the 02 is orange, its diseeving, it looks pink in some light but when i applied it in front of the mirror in front of my bedroom window it looked soooooo orange..lovely foundation but has this weird science effect of different colours to it depending on which lighting you swatch it???? to confusing for me, if its suppose to be be pink then it should look pink full stop, if its suppose to be yellow then it should be yeloow full stop? stopped using it
ReplyDeleteHi, I was looking to buy guerlain parure gold or guerlain extreme foundation, I have normal-oily skin, which do you think would work?
ReplyDeleteThanks
Meena.
i'd recommend the parure extreme if you have rather oily skin and want your foundation to last well and be transfer resistant. it stands up against skin sebum better than the parure gold. if you suffer from dry patches from time to time, the parure gold would be the better choice for you since it creates an awesomely flawless finish!
DeleteI own this foundation too and i love it for special occasions! Great coverage and photographs wonderfully!
ReplyDeleteOn you it looks stunning! I have acne scars and this does a pretty good job at hiding them.. Still need my trusty concealer though =P
it's a lovely lightweight foundation, right? i would rather rate it as medium coverage though, for me it also still needs some concealing of the dark breakout-scars. oh, did you heard that Guerlain will come out with a dewy/moisturising foundation in fall? i'm really eager to try that one out!
