so today i want to introduce to you the inspiration for this blog's name, an eyeshadow from Rouge Bunny Rouge. this is a brand from russia which produces highest quality cosmetics at high end prices, so for example one eyeshadow costs about 25€. in europe, Rouge Bunny Rouge is sold exclusively on zuneta.com and in germany also on QVC.
this is what they say about their eyeshadows:
"The firefly festival is eagerly awaited all year in the Enchanted Garden. For then on this very special day, the best voices of the bird world feed on these tiny fireworks that embellish their voices and then gather to perform a single concert together. Their jubilant musical notes are inscribed in a syrup of figs and milk and preserved in tiny pots to be enjoyed the year round.
Like this golden froth of musical syrup, 'When Birds are Singing...' Eye Shadows are a time defying exotic enigma. This is plumage to adorn you in shades as deliciously mellow as soft silence that flows, or as brilliantly potent as jewelled notes. So addictive are these morsels that you'll be causing your own kaleidoscopic ripples every time you wear them.
Discover a new powder Eye Shadow with an astonishing lightweight, creamy touch and unprecedented adherence. This formula creates pure dynamic iridescence while it maintains second skin effect. It has extended eight-hour wear that will stay perfect and look freshly applied all day. Orange-derived Flavonoid improves blood microcirculation, enhances luminosity and serves as a free radical scavenger."
you see this brand uses the most visionary and alluring words to praise their range. they have a beautiful web-presentation, too, have a look at rougebunnyrouge.com .
now to the eyeshadow itself: delicate hummingbird eyeshadow is from the "when birds are singing..."-range, it comes in a cute little container with a small mirror and doesn't include one of those useless sponge-tip-applicators. the pan contains 2.4g of product.
it's a taupe/purple mixture which tends a little bit plummy, with fine multicolor shimmer bits (mostly pink and silver, but also green, turquoise and gold).
the texture of this shade ist velvety soft and really well pigmented, swatches are done on bare skin without any base.
the finish close up is very fine and shimmering without being too frosty or metallic and looks rather like a satin-finish from far away.
staying power of this is excellent without any creasing.
here are some swatches:
i made comparisons to similar colours:(from left to right)
1st row: christian dior dusty purple shade from the misty mauve quint (LE), next to it two shades from the wildberry palette from manhattan (LE).
2nd row: mac hypnotizing (LE) - rouge bunny rouge delicate hummingbird - mac smudged violet from the shadowy lady quad (LE)
3rd row: kat von d galeano from the beethoven palette - rouge bunny rouge delicate hummingbird - mac shale

in my opinion it's quite unique, at least enough to own all of those shown above. ;)
i also have Abyssinian Catbird eyeshadow and A Major-fis Minor eyeshadow duo, if you'd like to, i will do a review and swatches.
there are still some more colours i already have my eye on...
