revisited: NARS Pleasures of Paris/Douceurs de Paris palette.

i have once posted swatches of this, but these were so crap, that i want to show it to you again, this time with different eye looks.
other than because of the beautiful name, i truly love the #9951 Pleasures of Paris / Douceurs de Paris eyeshadow palette by NARS for its mixture of soft, dusty colours and different finishes which makes it very versatile and easy to wear. you can create really soft nude eye make ups with it but even more, it's a fantastic palette for intense, smokey looks.
NARS again serves with a smart combination of cool and warm colours to make this palette work for different skin tones. i love to dig this out in the colder seasons since it has such great autumnal and wintery colours.
the quality is great as always, i don't have any complains regarding pigmentation, fall outs, blendability or staying power at all.
i bought this palette on ebay for surely 50-60€ over 1 year ago, but at that time this palette was not to find anywhere. now i see it available for only 45€ on the official NARS web stores internationally.
you'd get 6 eyeshadows with 1.5g each (9g in total), i think this is a fantastic deal.

top row:
Nepal (also as a single eyeshadow available) - a light peachy tan which pulls almost mauve/rose on my lids.
Violetta (light shade from Violetta duo) - a matte dusty light  purple which leans grey in the pan but  transforms to a dusty mauvey beige on my lids. it has a soft and fine texture and applies evenly.
Demon Lover (dark shade from Demon Lover duo) - a matte dark eggplant colour, it applies darker than how it looks in the pan. looks great applied intensely for a smokey eye, especially on brown eyes.

bottom row:
Fez (also as a single eyeshadow available) - a warm shimmery bronze. a very glowing colour that also looks great when layered sheerly on other shades. i love to use it to blend out darker colours or used on the lower lashline since it picks up the light so intriguingly. great silky texture and pigmentation, blends out absolutely beautifully.
Abyssinia (also as a single eyeshadow available) - light bone beige with soft satin shimmer. soft highlight shade for the inner corners orbrowbone area.
Cordura (dark shade in Cordura duo) - dark, rich espresso brown base with satin finish and with gold microglitter and pink shimmer. applies evenly and intense without fall out but the glitter will disappear after blending. a great colour to deepen the outer corner or for bold smokey eyes. when used wet as a liner you'll get the gold shimmer effect.

some different eye make ups i created with this palette:

#1 dark brown smokey eyes

for this one i used Cordura on the entire lid and blended out with Fez, Fez also on the outer lower lashline and Nepal on the inner half of it. Abyssinia on the most inner corner.

#2 eggplant smokey eyes

i used Demon Lover on the lid, Fez just above it, then blended out and on the lower lashline
Abyssinia on the most inner corner. this eye make up looks very interesting on brown eyes.

#3 soft warm eye

with Violetta on the lid, Nepal in the inner corner, Fez in the crease and on the lower lashline and Cordura used wet for a winged liner plus a dab on the outer corner of the lower lashline.

  1. Great swatches and eye looks. This is the kind of colors selection I go to for smokey eyes! I think the purples will flatter many eye colors.

  4. You just made me fall in love with Violetta - do you maybe have another e/s that's similar in your collection? (I don't like the second shade in that duo)
