ha! i did it again. couldn't resist those shadows. i'm a beauty-magpie, can't resist shimmery and shiny things ;)
and not until i finished reading the words "shimmery taupe" in the same sentence with "Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Silk Eyeshadow #4", the order confirmation mail was already in my in-box.
click here for the review of shade #9, a peachy gold, and here for shade #6, an olive bronze.
so once again, this is from Giorgio Armani's new permanent line of creamy loose eyeshadows, lightly pressed (with a plastic insert) that comes in a glass jar. such eyeshadows were already released in last year's holiday collection, and now they come with a wider range of colours. eyeshadows of this kind was also brought to us by L'Oreal group co-members Lancôme and as a drugstore version from L'Oreal Paris (and also reviewed and swatched here).
when i received #4 (i ordered on douglas.de), it wasn't a taupe like i have hoped, but a very sparkly and shimmery steel grey with flecks of pink shadow (that doesn't add much to the colour). the finish is almost metallic and the pigmentation is on the higher side. the shadow applies creamy and smooth, blending was surprisingly easy without fall outs. the lasting power is again excellent, no creasing at all even without an eyelid primer.
thumbs up for shimmer-fans!
it contains 4g and costs 29.95€.
of course i did compare it to some similar shimmery dark silvers in my collection: and i also found a very very close match, that was a cheapo, too!

don't you find the Rival de Loop loose eyeshadow a really close dupe, too? it only cost somewhat above 1€, but sadly was a limited edition. until today, it's my all time favourite loose eyeshadow (so i bought some back ups, of which i am willing to share one with you in my giveaway). i'm glad and relieved to find a dupe, and the packaging is much better with the Armani one, too.
in this eye make up i wear the Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Silk Eyeshadow #4 on the middle and outer parts of the upper lid.
So pretty, thanks for the review and pictures. I think when these come out here in the UK I am going to find if difficult to narrow down what ones I want ;)
ReplyDeleteAw..I'm so jealous! It is so pretty on you, I'm obsessed with shimmery taupy color these days. I bought a few limited edition ones last christmas, the permanet collection hasn't arrived in Australia yet.
ReplyDeletethanks to both of you! those shadows are great for shimmery looks!
ReplyDelete@rei: i'm soo wanting the #15 shade from the holiday collection, but i think those shades weren't released with the holiday LE here in germany. (at least i never found them at douglas.de, the only online source for armani here)
