Giorgio Armani has just released a new line of eyeshadows in addition to their permanent range. this sort of eyeshadows was recently introduced as limited edition last winter/holiday. now they come with much more shades, also more colourful ones.
the Eyes To Kill Silk Eyeshadows contain 4g of product and cost 29.95€. i ordered the shade #9 sight unseen from the douglas.de online shop, as the product pictures look detailed and were too intriguing ;)
a sample size of the Eyes To Kill Excess mascara was added as a GWP.
this eyeshadow is a loose powder that is lightly pressed with a little plastic insert. this sort of "innovation" is already familiar since Lancôme and L'Oreal has released such products some months ago. and because Giorgio Armani is also a daughter of the L'Oreal group (like Lancôme, YSL, Helena Rubinstein, Club des Createurs de Beauté, ... --> so if any of these brands (except Lancôme) is coming up with such eyeshadows in the near future, i'd be floored ) it sorts of putting me off. i thought it would be a cream eyeshadow before. i feel like they are all the same, just like i have told you in this post about these eyeshadows from L'Oreal, but just at different price tags because of different names printed on their packaging. i can't say if i would have bought it if i really knew what it is like...
shade #9 is a greyish beige/cream colour mixed with copper flecks, which makes the eyeshadow very interesting to look at (and is the aspect that intrigued me to buy this). the texture is rather gritty and flaky on the first touch, but "melts" to a smooth, almost creamy consistency and applies with lots and lots of multicolour shimmers and sparkles and a metallic finish. the shimmers look just divine to sparkle-lovers like me ;)
when applied, the colours mix together to a peachy gold.
it's not very pigmented in terms of you don't grab very much product with one brush swipe, and i have the feeling that the flaky metallic texture can harden with further usage and i won't have the need to use the pressing insert.
i notice some fall out with this, so you might do your foundation after the eye make up if you use dark colours of the Eyes To Kill eyeshadows.
it doesn't irritate my eyes, i also didn't notice any creasing or fading even without any eyeshadow base.
as always, i have compared it to my other shimmery peachy beige eyeshadows:
MAC Naked Lunch - MAC Grand Entrance - Giorgio Armani #9 - MUFE #306 Beige Diamant - MAC All That Glitters - Chanel Ombres Perlées palette: peachy shade |
MAC Naked Lunch - MAC Grand Entrance - Giorgio Armani #9 - MUFE #306 Beige Diamant - MAC All That Glitters - Chanel Ombres Perlées palette: peachy shade |
MAC Naked Lunch - MAC Grand Entrance - Giorgio Armani #9 - MUFE #306 Beige Diamant - MAC All That Glitters - Chanel Ombres Perlées palette: peachy shade |
i find it looks like a MAC Grand Entrance on speed, but the most similar would be the Chanel shade. it's just a bit more shimmery and sparkly than Chanel, which is more metallic.
how do you like these? would you get one/some? i have to admit that i still want to buy 2 other shades, but as it might even be the same to the L'Oreal or Lancôme ones leaves a bitter aftertaste for me...
beautiful color!
ReplyDeletehow does this shade compare to the shade #11 white punch? I am thinking this one might be too golden for my taste..
ReplyDelete@anonymous: sadly i don't own #11 so i can't compare... i also don't have a armani counter where i could see the shades in real :(
