Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Silk Eye Shadow #27.

yet another belated review of my recent Giorgio Armani order, at least the one i'm talking about today is still available on douglas.de - if you order, don't forget to check frau-shopping.de for all the goodie-codes! shade #27 is one of six Eyes To Kill Silk Eye Shadows released with the Acqua Collection for summer 2012, i have already shown you shade #28 here.

the loosely pressed hybrid cream/powder eyeshadow crumbles house in a glass pot with a plastic stopper inside. i store my pots upside down to see the colour that's inside. it contains 4g of product and costs 32$/30€.

GA ETK #27 swatched heavily & sheered out

#27 is a mix of steel grey and reddish pink crumbles, as a result you'll get a complex smokey mauve with crystal flecks and tons of pink shimmer. this colour swatches with a strong pink tinge but turns to a mauvey taupe on my lids (it was a difficult task for my camera to capture the effect, it flashes between a taupe and dusty mauve in my swatches). i really like how it looks with my eye colour, the purple tinge only slightly contrasts the brown in my eyes but enough to bring it out. it's smooth and intensely pigmented with a highly metallic finish. i get the best pigmentation by using a firm, flat brush. fluffier or softer brushes don't always apply evenly and can cause fall outs. it blends out easily to a sheer glimmering veil (really beautiful effect). this is made for lazy people like me, it's creates a good portion of drama without the need of additional eyeshadows. the staying power didn't disappoint me - just like the other ETK Silk Eye Shadows i've used, it wears the whole day brilliantly without creasing or fading. luckily it's not like any of my existing grurples, it's shinier and more pink than any grey/purple cream- or powder eyeshadow i compared it to.
another winner from this line, i really love these hybrid shadows and can totally recommend them. used sparingly (for example as accent colour only on the center of the lids), they even look great on those who swear by matte shadows.

for this eye makeup i applied the eyeshadow all over the lid and on the lower lashline, a light champagne on the inner corner and purple eyeliner (forgot the combo, might be Max Factor Metallic Lilac with GA ETK #27 dabbed over it?).
on the cheeks some combo from Le Métier de Beauté's Blush Kaleidoscope and on the lips Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss in #57 Imaginaire.

NARS Lhasa.

NARS Lhasa single eyeshadow was released sometime in winter/spring, it's now in their permanent line-up. i ordered mine few months ago on hqhair.com (i don't recommend to buy NARS on there at all, last time i ordered Outlaw blush it took them 3 weeks to send out my purchase!  >(  !!!)
it comes in the typical sturdy mini compact of rubberized plastic and has a small mirror inside. it contains 2.2g and costs £16.50/24€.
Lhasa is a dark silver with a hint of purple and fine silver shimmer, this is at the same time reason why i needed to have it but also reason why i shouldn't buy it - too big a risk getting a dupe of something i already own!
the texture is very "NARS", rather firmly pressed, but very silky. rather sheer, but buildable. i experienced effortless blendability without fall-outs and an excellent staying power in combination with the NARS Pro Prime Eye Primer. the sheerness and pearly shimmer makes this cool toned colour blend in seamlessly with my skintone and this a versatile lid shade to wear alone or combined with different colours, warm or cool-toned, smokey or bright.
fortunately, it's nothing like any dupe-suspect in my eyeshadow drawer since it's more silver than those  grurples.

look #1

here i applied NARS Lhasa as lid shade and combined it with a bronze burgundy on the outer corner.

look #2

for this look it's Lhasa alone, with a metallic golden bronze liner (Urban Decay Honey).

Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Silk Eye Shadow #28.

a few weeks ago i made my order for the new Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Silk Eye Shadows from the Acqua Collection for summer 2012. i went for #27 and #28, and today it's about the latter.
i ordered on douglas.de (only the shades #27 and #29 are still available on there, GA always sells out quickly -.-) and as always, frau-shopping.de was overly helpful to grab some great GWPs.
these contain 4g each and cost ~30€/32$.

packaging is as always, a glass pot with the plastic stopper inside that should prevent the loosely pressed eyeshadow to crumble up. i haven't experienced any of these ETK eyeshadows drying out or crumbling up yet.

GA ETK #28 swatched heavily and sheered out

shade #28 is a mix of golden bronze and reddish purple crumbles, the result is an exciting and complex bronze with gold and crystal microglitter flecks and pink shimmer.
the result is very sparkly and dimensional, it has a medium pigmentation but is easily buildable to an opaque intensity. it blends beautifully and doesn't cause fall outs, the microglitter particles adhere well on the lids once pressed on.
i am totally in love with this shade at the moment, it's perfect to wear on it's own and since it's a neutral with lots of dramatic sparklelicious going on, it's both great for day and night time. not only does this have an amazing staying power (lasts 12h+ even without primer), but it even looks better and better as the time goes by! after a few hours, the eyeshadow starts to merge with my natural oils or so and the finish becomes reflective, metallic and almost gloss-like (but without the creasing). together with the complex pinky bronze mix of colour - super pretty.
