i was drooling over Jetties Blushalicious Deluxe Tag Post when i noticed that my own last blush-overview is more than 1 year old and a lot has happened in this area. so much that i was too lazy to dig all of them out to do a photographic update but i only did this for the newcomers of my collection.
so here they are, the new additions to my stash within the last year...
CARGO
1 - Cargo Prague
2 - Cargo Siena
3 - Cargo Key Largo
4 - Cargo SuedeBlush in Gold Coast

i also did own (and sold) Cargo SuedeBlush in Montebello, Cargo Topeka, Molokai and Louisiana during the last year. am undecided whether to sell Key Largo or not.
i still love the Cargo range - i reviewed each of them, click here to get to the overview page (or on the sidebar). my favourites are (in no particular order) Echo Beach, Siena and Tonga.
NARS
only three new Narsies in the last year:
1 - NARS Torrid
2 - NARS Oasis

here you can get to my complete NARS blush review series. my favourites are Orgasm, Luster and Gilda.
EDWARD BESS
bought 2 of the now 3 Quad Royales: these are Summer In Capri & South Of France.
will review them soon (hopefully).
BURBERRY
i also had the pleasure of trying the fabulous blush formula by Burberry - here are No.07 Earthy Blush and No.08 Misty Blush. really really want to get some more!

MISCELLANEOUS
1 - Paul & Joe Blue Horizon Bronzer
2 - Estée Lauder Michael Kors Very Hollywood Shimmering Loose Powder
3 - Becca Mineral Blush in Flowerchild
4 - Dior Healthy Glow Summer Powder in Aurora
5 - Clé de Peau Blush Duo in #4
6 - MAC Blush in Style
i'm surprised that there's only 1 MAC product in this whole year.
READY TO LEAVE
a few products i bought during the year but that are already packed for current/future blog sales.
Chanel Loose Powder in Féerie, Smashbox Fusion Soft Lights in Blushing Pink and a Giorgio Armani Face Highlighter.
if i'd compile the past blush-year my highlights were Burberry, Le Métier de Beauté, Dior Aurora and Paul & Joe bronzers. but what truly made my heart beat faster were definitely and absolutely the amazing blush brushes i could try. this was my best brush-year ever. and i thought i was set for life when i went out of a parisien Sephora 3 years ago and held a big bag of MAC brushes in hands ;D
now i have experienced the softest softness there could be as far as brushes go (MAC brushes i would almost consider as quite scratchy now that i'm stuck on squirrel hair ones) and am overly happy to call a selection of probably the best blush brushes on the market my own. could only top it with a range of Chikuhodo Z brushes, but the year is not over yet ;)
unlike Jettie (whose blogpost i linked above) i think it's the experience of the heavenly soft brushes of the best quality pampering your skin that puts my blush application onto a whole other level of joy and delight. for me, it's not only about the final result, but also about the process of applying the refined colour to your cheeks. but that's another ramble. now -
... MHHH, THE BRUSHES!
a selection of the best blush brushes of my last year - intimidating that these are not all of them, but hell yeah, i love brushes!
1 - Lunasol Powder Brush N sometimes for bronzer
2 - Lunasol Blush Brush N
3 - Hakuhodo B505BkSL Blush Brush M round and flat
4 - Hakuhodo G5519BkSL Blush Brush
5 - Hakuhodo G5552 Powder & Liquid Brush round/angled for cream, gel & liquid formulas
6 - Ipsa Brush 2 sometimes for contouring
7 - Ipsa Squirrel Brush L
8 - RMK Cheek Brush
9 - Chikuhodo Z4 Blush Brush
10 - SUQQU Blush Brush
37 products are gone or almost gone since May 2011 (plus about 15 that i'm undecided about). i have sold them in blog sales, have them prepared for future blog sales or gave them to friends and family. there's also a bunch that i just stored away and now that i see the photos of them again i realize that i don't reach for them anymore and also haven't missed them (mental note for the "to sale"-box). makes my balance quite humble with "only" 37 new blushes - ok, not so humble anymore if you count each Beauty Is Life blush from the palettes individually = 55 products.
and this was my stock 1 year ago...

gorgeous stuff! can't wait for your reviews -- especially that yummylicious suqqu cheek brush -- and potential blog sale ;)
ReplyDeletei think i'll do a Suqqu-special after my exams, please bear with me! a blogsale is also overdue - the blog-sale-box is flowing over!
Deleteblushipedia - klingt gut! hehe
*-* what a great collection! :)
ReplyDeletethank you!
DeleteI think I just got the hiccups seeing that. What a collection.
ReplyDeletethank you Heli! i'm very very happy with it, too!
DeleteNice pictures! I actually bought the RMK cheek brush because of your past review, I'm actually impatiently waiting for it to arrive. But the pictures with all the other brushes makes me want them all... uhoh!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, how do you like the Edward Bess bronzer? I've heard good things, but I'd love to know what your opinions are. :)
the RMK Cheek brush is an excellent brush! you'll love it!
Deletei really like the edward bess bronzer, it applies super easily with an even finish, looks natural on me and has a slight natural glow. and i loove the scent! i have the old version though (still the round compact), it's revamped now with a case like the quad royales and i heard that the colour is also slightly different, a bit warmer i think.
First things first... THANKS!!! is a great collection and photos, really a 101 blush post! bookmarked!
ReplyDeletei'm happy that you like it!
DeleteThose Beauty is Life blushes look gorgeous. Btw, the Guerlain Parure de Nuit is a cute highlighter.
ReplyDeleteyes, they are a blast of colour, right? i hope you're still happy with the Guerlain Parure de Nuit?
DeleteWow! Incredible collection... May I come over and play :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm wanting to try so many of them.
they look gorgeous when they're out there and photographed, right? i love looking at my collection pictures, too, so i try to arrange them as nicely as possible ;)
DeleteOK now that I have recovered from fainting after reading this post I must know more about the Beauty Is Life blush palettes! I need blushes for my pro kit and those look amazing! soooo...are they as amazing as they look? Are you happy with them? Thanks!
ReplyDeletehope you've recovered ;) the Beauty is Life blushes are super pigmented and have a nice texture. they blend very well but you really only need the slightest dab. i'm quite happy with my selection! i only wished they had a better scent and a nicer packaging. if you have tried kryolan blushes, the BIL ones are quite similar.
DeleteI love, love, love wardrobe update/edit pictures! Mine probably wouldn't have room for those delicious BiL palettes but maybe one or two.... eagerly anticipating your reviews
ReplyDeletei'm busy wearing each day a shade to finally shoot the before/after pics ;) am only halfway through, though!
DeleteUNBELIEVABLE SEXY COLLECTION I clicked on like 15 links!!! thank you so much for linking so many!
ReplyDeletethank you - and you're welcome! i really like to have such overview posts to help navigating since i have so many reviews until now. i hope the reviews were helpful for you!
Deletei started following your blog exactly because of the blushes :) so this post is a miracle for me :)
ReplyDeletewill be waiting for your Edward Bess reviews!
i will not fail you! ;)
DeleteWow, those blush palettes look incredible! Where did you get them from?
ReplyDeletethey have an online-shop and ship worldwide: www.beautyislife-shop.de
Deletewow what a collection!! I love blushes and you show some very beautiful ones! thanks for sharing
ReplyDeletethank you Silvia! i'm happy that you like it!
DeleteCrazy!!!
ReplyDeletecrazy good or crazy mental home? ;)
DeleteCompletely impressed with your collection :). I'm also quite a bit jealous too since blush is my favorite type of beauty product to purchase!
ReplyDeletethank you, Sidney! i really like to buy blushes, too, but my stash is so big that i have to be really thoughtful now when i want to buy a new shade - most probably i already own a similar colour ;)
DeleteTerra inca given away? Blasphemy!?!! :) quite the collection!
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa! yeah, i sold it. it was super super pretty but the effect not worth the price. quite like a fine mac msf in my opinion and made my skin look a bit "old" since it's so frosty and emphasized on each flaw of skin texture. emphasized on big pores, also :(((
DeleteDANKE MPJ! dass eine suchti-kollegin mich so auszeichnet, ehrt besonders! und ich glaube, du wirst den pinsel lieben!
ReplyDeleteWow!! Gorgeous every one and other of your blushes :D
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing as I have a huge collection though, but yours is incredible...
I'm happy you started posting again :D
Good God--this is quite literally blush heaven!!! You have such amazing taste in cheek color, I honestly shop your blog whenever I have some extra $$ and am looking for a nice, flattering blush! Seriously! Next on my list: the Guerlain Blush 4 Éclats in #05 Rose Plein Vent and Caresse de l'Aube!!! Oh, and can't wait for your review on Edward Bess' Summer in Capri. I have Monte Carlo but am curious to see if I "need" Summer in Capri too :D
ReplyDeletethank you! it's flattering to hear that. i will do the EB blushes soon! how do you like Monte Carlo? i don't own it yet ;)
DeleteOh I absolutely LOVE it! It has quickly become one of my all-time favorite blushes! It creates the perfectly warm, peachy glow and the shimmer is so fine, it leaves a gorgeous, natural sheen on the skin. Its the perfect highlighting blush!
Deleteyou make me crave for it! will definitely jump into the shopping basket the next time i order at zuneta!
DeleteYou are a serious blush/blush brush pro I think! This is impressive. I am not a pro at all! maybe you can help me decide on a brush. I bough the Hakuhodo 210 but I'm just not loving it. It seems on me to put down a lot of blush right in one spot and then it's hard to blend it. (Maybe that's me not being a pro.)
ReplyDeleteWhat I want is a soft wash of color...something more diffuse. Enough to show, but like a whisper, no edges. If you had to pick one brush to do this, what would you use?
thank you!
Deleteregarding your hakuhodo 210 brush: it's a rather chubby and compact brush, i love it for contouring or cream blush but not so much for powder blush colour. it's too dense and resilient to dust on a sheer veil of powder blusher. if you're looking for that, a fluffier brush with longer bristles would be more suitable for you. at the moment, i would most possibly pick my Suqqu blush brush for a very sheer wash, but since it's so expensive i don't exactly feel good to recommend it to anybody, so i'd say: RMK Cheek Brush or, if you like Hakuhodo: a traditional Yachiyo brush or the G5537BKSL/G5538BKSL brushes (similar looking with a classic handle).
hope this helps!
Thank you, I'll check them out! Do Suqqu and RMK ship to the US, or sold here?
Deleteyou can purchase Suqqu at Selfridges in London, they ship at about 80$ to the US, so quite expensive. best would be if you can let it custom purchased for you. there's also an online shop which sells Suqqu, but at twice the normal retail price. it's called ichibankao.com.
DeleteNIce and unique collection!I'm following you

Wow, you have quite the makeup collection!! I have the Le Metier de Beaute creme fresh tints in mystique and poppy. Unfortunately, the mystique doesn't really show on my tanned Asian skin but the poppy shows up well. I want the ginger lily also. I really wanted to try the Guerlain blushes also and here they are in your collection. Wish I could play with your makeup for a day. haha. Great post! Love your Hakuhodo brushes as well. :D
ReplyDelete-Grace
thank you, Grace!
Deletewow, this is dream of make-up -blusherholic:)

Those blush brushes made me go o_O. Goddamn, lady, those are niiiiice. If you can manage it, I think the best small blush brush is Chikuhodo Z2. I'm happy to see you writing again.
ReplyDeletei'm actually in the making of a serious Chikuhodo order ;) you enabler!
DeleteYay! You won't regret it. I'm definitely at a point of too-many-brushes, but it really is superb.
ReplyDeletei'm super excited to get my Chikuhodos! i'm definitely past this point already and have sorted out a bunch for blogsales - but still i need to get these Z-series brushes before i can feel complete ;) everything afterwards will only be some try and test, but nothing serious, i promise.
DeleteHoly mother of pearl.
ReplyDeleteLEMMINGS GALORE!
Can't wait to see your review on the Beauty Is Life palettes. They would make a great addition to my kit. :)
i'm in the process of preparing the review - it's just very picture heavy and time consuming since i want to provide before & after pictures for each shade.
Deletexoxo
I'm getting ready to order the RMK brush you recommended to me above...do you mean the regular one or the small size?
ReplyDeletedefinitely get the regular sized "cheek brush" if you want to experience the ultimate softness ;) the "cheek brush s" is a bit smaller and not as soft.
DeleteGod I waish I had your brush collection, I can just stare at them all day :)
ReplyDeletethank you, i really love my brushes.
DeleteI would LOVE to see a full review and face shot of the Créme Fresh Tint in Tenné!
ReplyDeletewill complete the LMdB Crème Fresh Tints series soon!
DeleteSo. Much. Blush.
