Rouge Bunny Rouge Long Lasting Cream Eyeshadow

this is the relatively new eye product by Rouge Bunny Rouge: Silk Aether Long-lasting Cream Eyeshadow. i was very tempted by the application video on zuneta.com (btw, those are great! so you can see how the product applies etc.) and got the shade Atlas Swallowtail  which is described as:

"Satin wash of nude taupe with pewter reflections; buildable to darker, more opaque and metallic greyish hue of the same colour."

because i thought it would be the most versatile and universally flattering colour out of the bunch (they have 5 different shades altogether). and of course because there was the word "taupe" in the description ;)

it contains 4ml and costs 26£. it comes in a small lipgloss-like tube in the size of a mascara sample with a flocked doe foot applicator. the packaging is ok, it closes really tight so you don't have to fear it drying out or something. but also you can't see how much product is left. i still prefer little glass jars as cream eyeshadow containers.

this is the official promo-text:
"[…] Our utmost Long-lasting Cream Eye Shadows caress your skin with the ease of a butterfly wing beat, so that your lids appear smooth and renewed while coated with a semi-matte, slightly luminous colour. It’s an irresistible combination of exceptionally long-wear, non-crease and smudge proof textures.
Our comfortable wand includes a light, velvet, creamy formula for silky gliding. Easy application is achieved by innovative silicon waxes and gels, in combination with Beeswax. We added Para Cress Flower Extract to stimulate natural skin lifting capabilities and Coffee Extract to increase collagen and elastin production while also enhancing the natural skin defences.

All colours can be worn in two ways: a satin wash of colour with one layer, or a stronger application providing opaque, metallic and darker hues of the same colour.

You can line, shade and contour your eyes very sheer or in a more dramatic way with our Long-lasting Cream Eye Shadows, and you can blend them into each other too.
Prime your eyes before you apply eye shadows with our Luminous Skin Wand, Aqua Primer or Mattifying Primer to give the skin an even tone and to help the eye shadows to stay even longer.
You can blend the colour of our Long-lasting Cream Eye Shadows either with the included applicator or with our Mini Shader (# 005) from your lash line up to the brow bone.
To open up your eyes use a light colour under your brows and to deepen your gaze place a darker one in the crease and blend well.
"

the texture of this cream shadow is rather mousse-y and silicony, it's almost a cream-to-powder formulation and blends out very well. i always apply it directly to my eyes with the applicator, one swipe on each lid and then blend out with a fluffy brush, preferably a  MAC 217-type brush.

Atlas Swallowtail is a medium sandy taupe colour, it has little pearly shimmers but blends out to an almost satin finish with a nice sheen. it's an easy to wear everyday shade.
worn alone (only with mascara), it's the perfect "model eye" for me, a caramel shade without shimmer or frost, that darkens your lid and make you look like you got no sleep last night, but had a lot of fun (so a positively tired look - do you get what i mean?).
it also looks great with a thick black winged liner (and dramatically red lips for the evening). i also use it as a base for neutral eyeshadows or to "neutralize" more colourful shadows on top.

the longevity is ok, i don't find it lasting longer than my Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadows or Paint Pots by MAC or MUFE Aqua Creams. i noticed it creasing on me when i had to wear my make up for over 14hours the last day, but it was a hard working day and i don't know when the creasing started. the other occasions i wore it, i didn't have this problem.

i compared it to some neutral cream shadows:
MAC Paint Pot Groundwork - MAC Vintage Selection - Max Factor Coffee - RBR Atlas Swallowtail - MAC Constructivist - Benefit Marry Up

as it's a cream-to-powder, i also swatched it next to some powder eyeshadows:
Chanel Safari - Artdeco #12 - RBR Atlas Swallowtail - NARS Cairo - NARS Ashes To Ashes

i will update this post with an eye look soon ;)

UPDATE: here some photos of how it looks worn.

only with mascara.

with a winged liner.
