Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Silk Eyeshadow #3

after seeing some fantastic swatches of this shade, i just had to order it. this is my 4th of Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Silk Eyeshadow, in #3.

last month, Giorgio Armani has released a new permanent line of creamy loose eyeshadows, loosely pressed into a glass jar with a plastic insert that comes with it. this is a new texture-concept in the L'Oreal group, L'Oreal Paris (reviewed and swatched here) and Lancôme have already thrown out their versions of it, but none with such interesting shades like in GA's line.

i don't see the "new texture" as such a big innovation for the beauty world, i even have the feeling that the loose parts of the shadow melt together by touch to give you that creamy-experience, but i'm afraid that the product will harden after a time. i hope this won't happen, i'm worrying.
but i have to admit that the shades have great brilliance, incredible shimmer and excellent staying power. even without a primer they stay 12h+ without any creasing or fading on my oily lids.

#3 is a very complex colour: in the jar it's a deep metallic purple mixed with lots of gold flecks. but when swirled together and applied, it's a dark purple charcoal with tons of shimmer and glimmer of multicolour quality. it's the effect i always wanted the Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eyeshadow in Black Velvet to be (review here). perfect for a party look, but combined with less shimmering/satin or matte eyeshadows also workable for daytime wear.
i get almost no fall out with this dark shade, it adheres very well on my skin. it also blends better than i have expected with such a metallic shimmering finish, the shimmering bits evenly distributed and faded. and as i have stated above, the staying power is great.
it contains 4g and costs 29.95€.

this is how it looks applied, i have a dent in my outer corner so it always look uneven there...
i only applied it lightly, you can layer or foil it to get a darker, even more shimmery and metallic finish.

  3. I found your blog from the Beauty Look Book and am glad. We don't have this shade yet at the US.... it is funny how you compared it to the Bobbi Brown Black Velet which I returned becuase it is so sheer on me, glad to see that this one from GA looks much more pigmented. Can't wait when we do carry it here in the US. I am curious about # 1 as well. thanks
