  2. What a lovely post ;) You have such a pretty handwriting.
I did know you were a physician, but not that you were a mom and a wife too - and a blogger on top of that, I suppose you never sleep? :)
Keep up the great work! xx

  3. thank you for sharing the you behind the face/brushes/swatches in your incredibly beautiful handwriting. I share a plant-wrecking tendency with you, although my orchids seem to defy the fact that I don't water them, and somehow they have stayed alife so far. Also literature and Defoe: I'm totally spellbinded by the dynamics of Robinson with Friday, and this has been discussed a lot at my Uni. The symbolics of loneliness (or being alone, perhaps a better word).
Weirdness is my middle name too: yeh, that made me reach for blogging about colours/makeup etc too.
So glad you help other young women with your experiences: keep it up!

    1. thank you BirkinBagBeauty! i wanted to make the blog a bit more personal but without all the "get to know me"-tags.
i'm happy that opening up not only means loosing privacy but also connecting to others who have similar attributes or experiences. for a long time i thought being such a young mom is a flaw in a CV but when i started working with young women and opened up to them and shared my experiences, i overcame it and today i can say that i am proud and content about how everything went.

  4. Oh my goodness, your handwriting is gorgeous! (Delicate Hummingbird is looking brilliant as well, might I add -- for an HTML "dummy," you've done a really lovely job with it!)

Sending you <3s and running off to go finish reading this post ;)

  5. dear trang,

wow, what a beautiful and well written post! i like the fact that it's handwritten so it's extra personal :D

i think with this we get to know you better. i appreciate that you are so honest about yourself. you seem like a rolemodel for younger girls, becauce you got pregnant at a young age (which isn't something you want to experience i think) but you also mastered very hard medical studies!

i can't imagine myself with a little baby and studing for exams. btw, i really want to become a physician, too, but unfortunately my nc isn't good enough... and i don't think i have the stenght to wait 3 to 5 years until i'll maybe get an university place.

you are only 27 years old and already achieved huge goals in life. i wish you and your family the best for the future.

    love, christine

p.s.: please ignore stupid grammar and spelling mistakes. i'm tired and i searioiusly need some practice :)

    1. Christine,
i'm very thankful for your support! if you can get into med studies, i think you'll make it very well, some of my friends didn't have very high nc but are great physicians now because their dedication made up for everything! even if you can't study medicine, don't be disappointed (pssst: it's not "that" great ;) . anyhow, i hope everything unfolds in a satisfying way to you.

      with the best wishes,
      Trang

p.s. i'm willing to ignore any of your grammar and spelling mistakes as long as you can bear mine ;)

  9. This is one of the nicest things I've ever read on a blog - so sweet! I always like to know a little about the bloggers behind the blogs I read everyday but I would never ask questions because I respect their privacy. I always wondered how your command of the english language is so good!

BTW - I love visiting grand houses and gardens too, but my peers think I'm weird - kindred souls in that respect!

i had english in school like anybody else, no extra courses or living abroad in an anglophone country. i don't think that i excel the english language, i just write and speak how it comes to my mind, i think i have a bit of a talent or intuition for languages ;)

  13. You have beautiful handwriting! I enjoy getting to know a bit about the bloggers whose blogs I enjoy reading. It 'feels' more like chatting over a cup of coffee with a friend as opposed to just reading words on a page, if that makes sense. Congratulations on figuring out how to make everything in your life work together. I know that's not an easy road to travel - my sister became a mom at a very young age as well. Thanks for sharing! I have idea how you manage to fit so much into your day but you do it very well!

    1. thank you! that was exactly my intention writing in such personal manner. it should feel like talking to a friend and i hope it will help me to connect to you as a friendly chit chat when i talk about my makeup and not like some stranger.
i know how much work and effort it takes for a family to support a young mother and i appreciate that a lot. i have a younger brother and i know that it was a very hard time for him as well because he was a kid and everything changed so drastically. but now, he is my biggest help. picks up my son for me when i can't, plays with him and is a uncle/friend for him. i hope your sister and her child are content and happy.

  18. Oh my goodness, Trang, you're always my favorite blogger and now it's even better to learn that you're Vietnamese as well. Initially, I thought you were a Korean thanks to your cute feature and how you're so well-versed with Korean makeup and the likes.

Thank you for your sharing. I look forward to seeing more post from you. I'm a big fan of your eye makeup even though so far I haven't been able to reproduce the result.

    1. Hi Thao, i'm honoured to be your fave blogger! and yes, i'm a vietnamese but just started to explore korean makeup recently (watching all those k-dramas sometimes make me wish knowing their language also XD what i know now is just sorts of: "oppa, kwenchana? saranhae yo!" HAHAHA)

in fact my eye makeups are very simple, i'm not too artistic and my features quite plain so i can't do too much with it. it's just about to know your own features and what suits you. i hope to do more detailed eyemakeup tutorials in the future, maybe they will be more helpful! :)

  23. Oh my! I am speechless! I had inferred and gleaned from past hints and fleeting references that you are 1) relatively young and 2) married, however, I had no idea that you have been soldiering on through school while simultaneously being a mother! You are truly a paragon of dedication and determination! And if my math is correct, you had your son when you were 18 years old?!? Correct me if I am wrong, but that makes you even more of a heroine in my book!

Kudos to you - you are a serious inspiration to myself and obviously to everyone else who has come into contact with you through this blog!

  24. I read your personal story and was extremely touched at your candor, your struggles and perseverance. I see a thread throughout your story on wanting to connect and help others which I thoroughly admire.

Now it seems you are at new dawn having accomplished so much in your education and professional development. I am happy to hear you have a lovely son and husband and seem to be content with who you are and where you are in life right now.

Best wishes and may life continue to bestow on you more blessings!

  25. That was a lovely open letter, Trang! And I had guessed that you might be Vietnamese, but I never knew for sure. I am too! :D

You've been through a lot and I must say, I am so proud and inspired by you--it makes me think that if you could learn to a country and learn the language (well, 2 that I know of--English AND German!), get married, have a baby, and graduate school to become a physician--well, I don't have ANY excuses to not be done with school yet. I really need to get my butt into gear!!

I really enjoyed this letter though--thanks for posting it! Oh, and you have the prettiest writing!! :D Lots of love!

  28. Hi I thought you were Chinese. You have such fair skin. R you trilingual? German, English and Vietnamese? Your English is not bad even as a German. Far surpassed my expectations. By the way I am the gal whom emailed you saying if you need help buying things in Japan, my fren is willing to help. Not sure if you still remember a person emailing you. LOL

i'm not really trilingual, i do speak and write german and vietnamese fluently (german even a lot better than vietnamese) but i don't know if my english is good enough to count, plus, i rarely use english other than on the blog ;P some books, scientific publications or movies.

  31. Hello chi Trang, thank you very much for your personal insight! I believe that anyone can see your inner and outer beauty through your honesty. As for someone who has shared the same experience as you, I can only agree to what you have said. Growing up in a conservative Asian family doesn't get easier by the time you realize you've become pregnant at a young age. I believe many people will feel encouraged by your words and in fact, hard work really pays off in great success. I am a lawyer today and as long as you believe in great things, great things will happen. Congratulations on your success and stay a beautiful, loving mother and wife.
