3 x blue by KIKO.

just a quick and easy post with some nail polish swatches. about a month ago i stumbled across a KIKO store in a mall near where i live, i never cared for this brand so i wanted to try some. from what i saw i find that it does feel a little bit cheapo, from what i swatched (liquid&pencil eyeliners, eyeshadows) i think some items are not too bad at all, however, the halogen headlights where much too distorting. everything seemed beautifully shimmering and sparkling when in normal daylight it was a bit dull.
a very positive thing is the swatch-friendliness of these counters. applicators, cotton buds, tissue, cotton pads, wet wipes, oil-based make up remover, sticky tape to swatch nailpolish - everything was provided for you to swatch at your pleasure.

in the end i only bought 3 nail polishes.

the polishes only cost 1.50€ each, they contain 11ml. they have a long and wide brush which applies evenly and is easy to use. a friend of mine surely bought almost all of the shades available XD

#383 (i wish they had names so they'd be at least memorable) is a dark teal, creme finish. it's opaque in 2 coats. applies evenly, lasts 4-5 days without chipping and only minimal tip wear.

#344 is a medium turquoise (leans a bit more blue), creme finish. i think it's on par with China Glaze For Audrey an the sort. a lovely pedi colour for the summer.

#383 a periwinkle blue, creme finish. i was searching for a colour like this for a long time: bright and right inbetween sky blue and lavender. opaque with 2-3 coats, applies evenly, has a very good staying power (it looked fine even after 5 days).

those nail polishes are certainly great. very cheap and the quality didn't disappoint.
what do you think about KIKO? is there something i need to try?

    Liebe Grüße

  2. Kiko polishes do have names, but they're only to be found on their website, at least in the Italian and English versions. Just select the colour you bought (number reference) on the drop-down menu and you'll see a colour drop and the name reference.
The eyeshadow sticks are quite nice and their mascaras are said to be quite good as well (never tried those). One of their blushes (103) is said to be a dupe for Nars Orgasm and they also have a nice highlighter.

  3. Holo 400 nail polish ;)
If you can find stick eyeshadows, maybe you'll like trying one of them. They last really well :)

  5. I have tried only one nail polish of kiko, a dark blue one, and the color is fantastic but when I remove it, there is always remains around my nails, that it costs me a lot of time to remove. And try with diferents removers. So for me is a little bit dirty. The E/S I dont like, they are not very pigmented, so never get the colour you want and you see in the pan, and even with eye primer they dont last more then 3 hours on me. I must try more!!!

  6. I have 265 China Blue, and I love the color, but when I remove the polish it always leaves my fingers 'dirty-blue'. Any of the removers that I have tried seem to clean completly this polish. And with the normal E/Y I dont a good experience. They are not pigmented as you expect, so you never get the colour of the pan (i have tried two dark navyblue) and they dont last on me more than 3 hours, even with eye primer.... :(.

    1. that doesn't sound good! i also get a light stain with the dark teal blue, i forgot to mention that, but overall removal is ok.
eyeshadows are sometimes a bit too much shimmer and too little colour pigment, i also noticed that. it's too bad that they don't even last on you! what primer did you use? maybe you can still get good use out of them if you layer them on other eyeshadows (which can look REALLY nice!) or on a coloured cream eyeshadow as base?

    2. Ja!!! (I used UD eyeprimer)I am thinking in doing that, buying f.e. BB Metallic long Wear Cream E/Y in Starry Night (which I love) and use it as a base. The Kiko colors are 165 and 166, which I love!!! But....I dont know why last winter was for me everything all about navy blue, eyes, nails...hahaha.

    3. BB starry night looks amazing! i will check it out, also some eyeshadows by Kiko. i actually really liked the shimmer effect of one of their baked mineral shadows, however those were so sheer that i think they only work with a coloured base underneath.
i also have my phases when i only loved one type of colour (summer 2011 was all golden for me ;)), i understand you hahaha

  7. Hello, Kiko is a very, very, very goog low budget makeup trend.
A lot of shades and a lot of innovations (and dupes !!!!) too !

Thank's for your beautiful blog !

Also unbedingt ausprobieren!!
